Presented from 24 January to 4 June 2023 at Louvre Abu Dhabi, the exhibition “Bollywood Superstars: A Short Story of Indian Cinema” is jointly organised by France Muséums, the Musée du quai Branly – Jacques Chirac and Louvre Abu Dhabi.   Designed as a content-oriented immersive experience, the exhibition opens the doors to Indian cinema in all its diversity, from its beginnings in 1896 to the present day.

Aude Viart is head of strategy and organisation at France Muséums and former director of a cultural institution. She explains how vital strategic planning is for a museum and how France Muséums can help its partners to formulate their goals.  

Jointly organised by France Muséums, the Musée d’Orsay and Louvre Abu Dhabi, the new international exhibition Impressionism: Pathways to Modernity will be held from 12 October 2022 to 5 February 2023 at Louvre Abu Dhabi. Bringing together over 150 artworks including 130 on loan from the Musée d’Orsay, it focuses on a theme and a period that are central to the latter museum. By creating a dialogue between major painters such as Monet, Manet, Cézanne, Renoir and Degas, the exhibition invites us to explore the work and influences of artists who, from the mid-1850s onwards, opened up new creative pathways closely linked to the social upheavals of their time.

France Muséums leverages its extensive expertise to provide international project leaders with support and guidance. By redefining and reasserting the role and responsibility of museums, we aim to build a more accessible, inclusive and sustainable world. This article summarises the outcomes of the discussions that took place during Les Rencontres and explores the opportunities and challenges faced by museums today, paving the way for more in-depth conversations with the broader community of museum experts and aficionados.

In issue no. 426 of Urbanisme magazine, devoted to tourism, France Muséums CEO Hervé Barbaret analyses the development of cultural districts and the trend towards thinking in terms of wide-ranging urban destinations that go beyond the single focus of individual  museum venues.

France Muséums has worked closely with the Monnaie de Paris on the design for its new temporary exhibition Monnaies & Merveilles. Presented to the public from 12 May to 25 September 2022, this exhibition is a poetic and sensory journey through the countless uses of money in different civilisations over the course of history.

The exhibition explores the countless opportunities paper offers for artistic expression and encourages visitors to take a fresh look at this everyday material that has become less widely used in the digital era. These “stories of paper” give visitors the chance to discover points of convergence between different civilisations in innovative, palpable ways.
